I was just wondering if my set up is okay. I am turning my CO2 on about and hour and a half before "lights on" and off about 2 hours before "lights off". I am not so much concerned about the "lights out" ritual, but I am about turning on the CO2 before "lights on."

I read somewhere to turn on CO2 before "lights on" to make sure CO2 levels are "optimum" as soon as light is available. I am wondering if putting that CO2 in without light is gonna choke out my fish?

I have the CO2 set at about 2-3 bps in a moderately planted 40 gallon breeder. I have it hooked up to a CO2 reactor with a level 1 pump.

Stock: 4 gouramis, 1 bichir, 3 yoyos.

What do you guys think? Thanks!

sounds about right. if youre worried, cut it down to .5 to 1 hr before the lights. my BPS was so fast i couldnt even count the bubbles. with over 40 tetras in my 55g, i never had any problems

Ok, Thanks! I just wanted a second opinion because of all the horror stories I have heard about CO2 injection and killing aquatic livestock. Glad to hear it works :D
