I have my Arowana in a 2' X 1' footprint 15 gal tank now. He is just 4 inches in length.
I would like to know till how long can I keep him there?
In one of the threads I read that always the aro tank size should be width = Aro's length & length = 3 X Aro's length minimum. Does that mean in my current tank I can keep till he hits 8"?

I'm planning to get a 180-220g tank and would like to figure out how much time I have to set it all up.

hey mate.. really depends how you see it.. as long as you understand the need for a LARGE tank :) it should be fine.. the aro to reach 8" will not take long.. so be ready for the large tank asap.. max i'd give is a month.. you might as well go ahead with your large tank plans.. setup.. cycle and be ready.. then move when the aro is like 8"

p.s the aro to reach 8" will take about 3 to 4 months.. and for you to establish a new tank, 3 months would be ample time..
