When Turtles Attack

That turtles gonna chomp onto somethings eye pretty soon. Got a basking spot?:)

thats definitely not good for your fish. THe turtle probably trying for a big meal rather than a ride.

thats awesome... so what if he makes a meal out of him.. i use to feed my ps bluegill all the time... whats the diff between feeding blues or sunnys to ps or turtles or using them for bait for northerns and musky.. fishermen do that all the time. im mostly curious about the basking spot.. ill get a turtle for my tank if there is a turtle species out there that doesnt require land. i watched a amazon show and they talked about how ps eat fishes fins all the time and it doesnt bother the fish because there is no feeling in the fin area and it regenerates.. the only thing stressing the fish out is pulling twice its weight around the tank..

First off, big fish eats little fish, reptile eats big fish, mamal eats reptile...or something like that, anyway get off your PETA soapbox, yea he probly will eat a few, ive had him for about 2 and a half years, he only hunts when hes hungy, when i see him hunting i give him turtle food.

As for basking he sits on a white plastic support right under the light, he loves it there, you can see him in some of the pics through the glass top of the aquarium, the last pic is of the support from under neath, hes sitting on top.

Its fun to watch him hunt, hes slow clumsy and extremely bad at it. The fish he attacked had no fin damage, no chunks missing, it didnt even seem to that concerned with it, just annoyed that he couldnt swim well.

You don't have to get defensive...this is after all a FISHkeeping website, we keep fish and try (most of us) to provide them with decent healthy homes. Though the pictures are cute and it was probably fun to watch I also worry about the long term safety of those fish. If your gonig to keep them as pets, treat them like pets.
