When Will My Fish Breed?

I have a pair of salvini cichlids that are a little bit bigger than an inch and I am fairly sure that one is a boy and one is a girl. At what age will they start to breed? Same think with delhezis, I have a 4 - 5”, 3 - 4” and a 1 - 2”. At what age will they start to breed. Same thing with my polar blue parrot cichlids, they are 2” and 1”.

Tbh have no experience with the Salvini Cichlid. Also it's better to start off with more than 2 so they can pair off naturally.

I've only had CB Senegal bichir spawn at a young age at 4-5".

polar blue parrot cichlids, they are 2” and 1”.

If I remember correctly they can breed similar to the Convict Cichlid at 2" .

T. salvini can start breeding around 2 inch for females and bit bigger for the males.

If I remember correctly they can breed similar to the Convict Cichlid at 2" .

smaller than that, they're short bodied convicts, so I'd expect them to be able to breed at less than an inch long, if my normal shaped convicts can spawn at an inch.

Which of mine are female/male? And if they’re breeding? I think their breeding, one is guarding this cave/tunnel in the tank very closely.c This one is more free swimming. It has developed new orange on its fins. Fish # 1 is on pictures 1 & 2, Fish # 2 is on picture 3, fish 2 is much smaller and guards the sharks mouth closely. It barely ever leaves.

The smaller Convict is the female. Did you notice any orange on the belly area of the female?

Well…. I just discovered 23 new fry in the tank this morning! They are in a bowl right now and being fed a mix of first bites and crushed flakes. They also receive a 40 percent water change daily. Anything else I can do?

Congrats!!!

No continue to do what you're doing. I suggest leaving the fry in with the parents because they will spawn again soon.

Do you plan on setting up a growout aquarium?
