When will these fall off my Endlis?

I have 3 7" Endlicheris and wanted to know when they will outgrow their external gills?? Im not sure if they are falling off now or if they are being chewed on by each other (they fight alot... even with full bellys)

Wow they still have em' at 7" that's cool, I bet you have a lot of aeration or surface movement in the tank.

With high oxygen it takes longer, with lower oxygen, not as long, truth is it varies so much that I couldn't give you a better answer. Some even have small stubs of the externals when they hit 12"!

I have one that keeps breathing real hard (opening his mouth) and his are the shortest. Im thinking its the transition of loosing them? He does eat and do everything else normal

it varies alot.
i had many in the same taank and some lost em early,some didnt have em when i bought them,and one of my endlis still had really long gills at 14".

I got a Delhezi about 3 weeks ago and he was roughly 3 1/2 inches and had none ...He is now 4 1/2 to 5 inches and these external gills are growing and are bright pinkish/red.

i personally think endlis look good with external gills.

Mine never had any I got them at 6" they are both over 12" now and im yet to see an endli with externals yet lol.
