I seem to be one of only a few people that have pinima now. I'm sure there were quite a lot about when I got mine and Jeff Rapps had them in stock. What's happened to them? It would be pretty sad if most of them ended up dead.

I would be willing to bet Tim!!!

i had one made it to 10'' and popped his air bladder when my dog spooked him by running by the tank too fast first thing in the morning!

when i get my 540gal setup running my boy is giving me his 17''er

Can't remember if I bought two or three originally, but the one I have now is about 15" and another I sold to bloodrock and he still has it. Pinima are harder to get now and would be more expensive, but I hear they are possibly available.

So most of them are dead and gone. That's really sad. Do they just get passed on until they die? I honestly wish I didn't have to sell any of my cichla. I'm definitely keeping the five I have now. I've had my pinima and kelberi for over 2 years now.

That's sad you lost yours. I can't wait to see your 17" pinima. Mines not far off that now.

I knew you and bloodrock had one each. To be honest those two are the only others I'm aware of on MFK.

One thing I've learned in my years in the hobby is it pays to keep hold of your cichla and grow them into big, impressive fish. I regret selling a lot of mine. I still know where most of them are and actually go to visit to see how they are doing. My old orinos look amazing and I really regret selling them.

It seems too many people buy these new rare cichla but never get to see their potential. Instead they sell them so they can go out and buy the newest cichla.

Well being in a rural area where I am the only mfk'er for atleast 100 miles means I only order enough for myself, selling is not an option. I actually really enjoy getting to watch them grow so that part is fine by me but its tough not being able to do group orders and split shipping costs.

Now back on topic Tim, do you have a pic of your pinima? Like you said, don't see them too often so one pic won't hurt right? Lol.
