OK, so many states report finding snakeheads (by fishing mostly) - but where are they actually breeding?

For example, they have been found in California, Alaska, Maine, and Massachusetts. These mostly are just isolated catches - but are they?
Are there breeding populations outside of Maryland or Florida, of any species of Channa? How extensively is the impact on native species studied?

Please don't respond with "No way, they are not breeding" based upon your own opinion. If you know something, please share! It seems that wild catching has been on the rise.

from wad i know about these species of fishes is tat they're very very hardy... i mean extremely... i live in Singapore and red's are considered a delicacy in most asian cultures... i wuz once fishing and i caught a red so i decided 2 bring it home 2 my grandma 2 make soup cuz it's actually a nutricious fish cooked properly so i wrapped the bugger up in wet cloth and drove home... 2 hours without being in water and when i finally arrived home and un-wrapped tat monster he wuz still breathing and trying 2 swim... still very strong actually...

over here in Singapore... snakeheads are a very invasive species... they are known 2 be able 2 survive in dirty waters and breed as well... they eat anything and everything... i would say they're the great whites of freshwater fishes... they can live in packs or solitary... so i guess breeding shouldn't be a problem for them anywhere... juz gotta find mebbe a suitable ground...

cheers mate...

from what i hear is that there are still SH being imported for food purposes in some states with big asian cultures living in them, and that some poeple at these markets where they sell them let them go or what ever and the winde up in some lake or stream
