I have 2 young Four Line Cats in my 75. They are still probably 4 inches long so they are fine in the 75 for now. I have an open space of sand and some short fake plants on one side and a bit of a jungle on the other side with lots of DW and big fake plants. The cats were super active and all over the tank when I first got them but now they stay in the driftwood constantly. I dont even see them at feeding time. Any ideas on why they have become so reclusive? I think they're really cool when they are visible so if there's a way I could encourage them to come out it would be awesome.

My 4 Line Pim did the same...I even tried a blue actinic bulb and it didn't work...they may be out more when you first get them because they're getting use to the tank

I know what you mean though by wanting to see them more often, they're so cool and their bodies look like that of a shark IMO

give them some time to grow. Mine resumed his normal activity once he got closer to adult size, he's now just 10" long and constantly out and about.

I have a 9 inch pim that stays hidden all day until its feeding time. he comes out, chases around everything in the tank, eats and goes back inside his log... he's got quite the attitude, but i love him.

I would get a few more of them; schooling fish tend to be more active when they are kept in groups. I have kept a small group of spotted pims in a 55 gallon, and they were active 24/7.

hmmm they usually don't hide that much when that size when older and there given hideing spots they use them most of the time or kinda get lazy but at that size mine was sipping around all over then tank

What are you feeding them ? blood worms and earth worms should get them moveing if you haven't all ready tried them

They've been pretty happy with sinking carnivore pellets (that's they're preference, also algae wafers, cichlid pellets, vegetables, and krill fed to that tank). I'll try some worms. What are people's thoughts on combining types of pims? For instance would pictus go well with them? I know the 4 lines get much bigger but just a question.
