I use to see Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus for sale every where now, i can't find any, if you know of any place selling them, please let me know.

thanks, i will keep looking, but im getting pissed off about the **** quality of them, and them not being pure fusco's at certain pet shops, i would say which ones but, i got kicked off another site just for giving novice a heads up , about certain chains and there cichlids, man i hope the guy i get my fish from, gets them in again, it's a shame when you can only trust a select few people to get you the real fish

well, I am not sure, but I have the opinion on here that if it is a chain store, feel free to say what you want. people go on about them all the time. They also talk about their own LFSs around. We try to keep it real, now bashing for the sake of bashing is one thing, but if you are truly trying to help I think you are in the safe here.

well, thats what i was doing, i like big al's alot and im happy we got one in philly, noy but, some of the stuff there getting, in is hybred stuff there selling off as the pure line, now i want to be fair not most of it, and they do have very good prices, but the fuco's were terrible, i think the were either red empress or borily crosses, nice colored fish, but not fuco's looking at all, and from a person who was a kid into cichlids who was burned tons of times cuz of buying young fish, and trusting the sales person that they would turn out like the adult fish, only to find out in a year they weren't the right fish, it gets me kinda pissed off, so just a heads up

I hadn't seen them available for a while, but started searching around for one since I recently divided my mixed community tank into a seperate Mbuna tank and seperate "Hap" tank. I saw that the smaller ones should be coming around soon... based on availability lists. As far as large ones, you're better off checking your LFS for trade-ins or calling ones that ship to try to get one...

I haven't been looking for them, but I did see a tank of them for like 7 bucks in a petland or something like that about 3 months ago.

I've seen them but usually grouped together w/ livingstonii. Anywhere frm 2.5-3.5" for 5 to 9 bucks. I've got one that his mouth is starting to look like an EBJD. Kind of elongated/beak like. Is this normal? He is growing faily slow as well, .5-1" per year.

I see you are located in philly. I bought my male fusco at the end of july from Big Al's in Norristown. http://www.bigalsusa.com/phillyhome.html. He had at least 10-15 in stock then. He is around 4", and I think he was $20. I was in their a week ago and they still had one or two left. You should check out the lfs anyway. They have one of the biggest fish room's I have ever been in. You selling any African's?
