is "hoplias malabraricus" legal in the US, NYC? Where can i buy one.

not sure where in NYC but saw a few baby ones at Aquascape, you can check out their website www.aquascapeonline.com
They are in NJ so if you can drive to jersey, about less than 30 minutes from NYC if there's no traffic.

hey i have a question, hi-fin red wolf better or common wolf better? which is tougher?

Two different types of behaviors. The red wolf will be more active and less aggressive / tough. The common will be more aggressive / tough but will not be very active. Get two tanks and go for one in each, that's what I did ;)

I think what Pedro has at aquascape are common wolves

they have both.

cool, did you call? guess they have their phone back online.
I only saw common wolves near piranha tanks when i was there, maybe there are more in other tanks.
did you place your order??

I saw they have few common wolves there as well, maybe someone bought them?? no idea.

perhaps I saw wrong when I was there picking up my piranha??

since wolf fish has an external breathing gill, do they die if the tank does not have an air pump nor filter? Because i heard a wolf jumped out of the tank for so many hours and survived. Is it true that common wolf can live out of water longer than the hi-fin?

They can breathe air when they need to but that doesn't mean you should skip a filter in their tank.

No clue which would survive longer, your best bet would be to keep a tight lid so you don't need to find out how long they can live without water ;)

Shark Aquarium in Hillside Jersey (just south of Newark) may have them. I've been keeping fish for 25 plus years.....I just found this place about a month ago and was really impressed with their stock. I can honestly say that they have fish that no other stores in the area/Northeast have......
