Where can I find Pool filter sand ?

Where can I find Pool filter sand and is it a good substrate to use in a aquarium ??

Any pool spa store in your area. I'd suggest calling around town. It should be no more than $12-$15 per 50 lb. bag. They'll either come white or natural brown. They are inert and won't harm or scratch your fishes.

I got mine from Pinch-a-Penny pool store. $10 for a 50lb bag. I used two in my 125.

+1 on Leslies pool sand as i find the sand grains are a little heavier so you dont get a cloud of sand for hours after a WC

I personally say forget the pool filter sand and get the play sand at home depot for $5 a bag

+2 on Leslies, the perfect sand! plus it's cheap, less than $10/50lb bag.

Looks like there's plenty of stores in GA too.

I use this fine white commercial sand from home depot. its 6$ for 100lbs and its looks great and is easy to clean..Just an idea
