I'm starting a cichlid tank and I read about how you need to get something under your substrate to evenly distribute the weight of the rocks on your aquarium glass. The site I was looking at recommended the egg crate lighting grid stuff, or styrofoam, both cut to size. Where can I find either of these items?

You can get the egg crate diffuser an any big home improvement store . Go to the grocery store and buy yourself a coupla big t-bones , cook those on the grill, and than use the styrofoam for your tank

Or you can set up an undergravel filter ODDBALL STYLE!

I ended up getting some thick styrofoam at Michaels... Too funny. I'd forgotten... styrofoam floats. Thick styrofoam is pretty darn bouyant. Little old 105 pound me had problems holding these pieces at the bottom of the tank... gotta start lifting weights or something lol
