Ive looked for some ammonia for a fishless cycle for 2 days now and before I keep looking I want to know where you got yours.

Go to a drug store or pharmacy. Look in the household cleaning supplies section. Make sure it's labeled "pure" ammonia. You don't want to use detergent or scented ammonia.

I usually find it at pharmacys also. Longs, SaveOn.

Shake the bottle, if it creates suds, dont use it. Pure ammonia doesn not get suds.

This is kind of gross. Before there existed products, like Cycle, for starting a culture in a new setup, hobbyists would add urine to the tanks for a fishless cycle to run. Most FW keepers just added "trash fish" to cycle tanks. But, the fresh urine additive was routine for fishless cycling of SW setups after seeding with sludge from another SW setup..

Now Billy,

Dont forget to Pee in your fish tank today. You've gotta get those bacteria growing.

Most any grocery store should have it. thats how I cycled my pond. Not too happy with the way it worked though
