Where can i get big tank backround for my 180...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
why don't you just go to your lfs, I'm sure they'll have backgrounds there. And if they're not long enough, then just use two sections. :D

What kind of background?

at the lfs here the backrounds are in a big roll you just find the one thats tall enough and you tell the worker how long your tank is and thell cut it to size

if theres a petsmart by you; i know they do it too

Im not positive but if needed overlap them

If you're not bent on having a paper bkgd on the outside, here's an interesting DIY bkgd page that I found that shows how to make one to size for the inside of your tank. Of course, one would have to know what is toxic and what is not. If I recall, things like quickcrete, concrete paint etc. can temporarily raise the ph in the water (?). I'm not an expert there so I'm anxious to read more posts by others for large tank background ideas and suppliers. Need to find or make a kool bkgd for my 150g. Well first you want to go to walmart or your local hardware store and pick up 3 cans of krylon semi-flat black. Then you set your tank on its side tape off everything that you don't want painted. Use each can for each coat. Tape on a little piece of background for where your filters hang. That way you won't get scratches. Voila you have a beautiful tank and happy fish. No Flashy background for them to attack anymore. I did it for my 55. I will never buy another background.
