where can i get cheap rocks and things to make homes for my fish???

strapped for cash and looking for cheap rocks or slabs to make for my fish???? any ideas????

Try constructing sites or craigslist. I've been lucky enough to catch people giving away left over rock from a bulid..........

Lakes and rivers often have flat stones and large rocks, great for aquascaping... just boil and/or powerwash (not literally) to get rid of the algae

Lfs also often sell rough course yellowish stones and slate, which also look great. Just dont use too much of the course stuff.

When I was keeping African cichlids I collected quite a few pounds of nice looking rocks from the creek down the road.Took a little work but the price was right.

I do test runs on smaller tanks with goldfish before I move on to bigger and better.......
