Hi all. Im new here and I want to get two Motoro Stingrays, because I heard they are very hardy. I want to know where can I get cheap tanks because I just came off Glasscages.com which they had a tank that was 48 by 48 by 25 which in gallons I think it was 325 gallons? But the cost was 850 dollers I think. Please help and if there is a specific species of Motoro that may be good for me, and where can I get two. Thanks:nilly:

$850 is not expensive for a 325 gallon tank. Some places want over a grand for a 300 gallon. There has been a lot of concern with glass cages quality. If you want a big tank for cheap then go with a pond. Tractor supply company has 300 gallon tubs for cheap.

contact the vendor NOTJUSTFISH..... he will make you a 8x4x2 tank for about 2gs in acrylic.... also glasscages tanks are fine if you keep at 30" height max.... any deeper and your asking for trouble.... ive never heard of any of there shallow tanks failing....

you could also make a pond for a few hundred bucks as well....

The cheap tubs work well. They're just not aesthetically pleasing.

As far as "species of Motoros", there is only one species, that is the potamotrygon motoro. Now, there are different variations of the species, but they're all pretty hardy rays.

Ill probably go with Nic's idea. Thats good for how many/the tank part?

You could keep 4-5 rays in a 8x4x2. Just remember, you'll need some serious filtration for a tank that big.

massive wet/dry filter....

also keep your eye on craigslist i check it every day and there is some crazy stuff there randomly, sometimes people give away large tanks for free
