I'm looking for small freshwater snails I can feed my two Green Spotted Puffer fish. Anyone know where I can get small feeder snails from?

I'm gonna be transferring them to a brackish environment here shortly but I need freshwater snails for now.

Can you guys help me? Point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

Ramshorn snails (european) can live in both conditions. They can usually be purchased through hobbyists for the cost of shipping. I would set up a secondary breeding box for them (critter keeper with a little plant) and you will have plenty in no time.

Another option is to go into any lfs or even petco and ask them to scoop you up some from a snail infested tank. Most will do it for free or a minimal "service" charge.
They would charge you for snails? That is a first. Most places want to get rid of them. They would be very happy if you did that.

Check with local hobby organizations.I usually bring a bag of 100 or so ramshorns to club auctions.Someone always buys them and it gets a hundred snails out of my tanks! If theres a local aquarium club I guarantee you can find someone that will give you a starter colony

usually when you buy plants from someone they come with "unwanted" snails. thats how i got my snail tank started.

I believe eBay does not allow sale of livestocks. Aquabid would a better place. Try Aquariacentral.com, our sister site. Many members there sell and give away snails all the time.
