I can't seem to find one anywhere. I know they are also called rubber pleco, chubby pleco, yellow pleco etc. The true name is Parancistrus aurantiacus. They turn from dull brown to yellow as the settle in. Any help would be totally appreciated!

I got 2 groups from Snookn21 (John) and 1 group from aquabid. They only come up every couple of years so you have to be patient.

I know this has probably come up before but are the L 56 the same as the Xantos? If so I saw some recently online and could probably track it down for you.

With enough persuasion, u probably can buy recumbent's xantos. Haha hes got too much awesome plecos.

Yes they are but are often confused with the rubber lipped pleco which sometimes gets the L-56 number as well.

Another possible source: unugy (it doesn't look like he has some now, but he does specialize in the unusual fancy plecos).

Saul-is an awesome guy. I recently purchased 3 L-25 and 2 L-24. I would gladly work with him again and have asked for his help with this. He said they are out of season but will see what he can do. I hope he can come through!

They are off season now.

Attached are few samples of the most desirable ones from 2011 and 2012.
