Hey guys,

Been a while, since I've been around but have had some good success with my 10G. Had a water Q problem a while back and lost a couple of fish to fungus.

I got my WQ under control and about a month ago, it looked like my danios were courting. I was very excited, but didn't encourage breeding since I have no way to take care of eggs right now and I'm about to move.

However at the beginning of the month, my one Danio disappeared. I saw no trace in or around the tank. I had been away for the weekend so I figured however the fish died, she was eaten and all traces gone by the time I saw she was missing.

Today however, I was missing a second danio. My gf and I both swear we saw three danios this morning, but there are only two in the tank now. I dug through everything in the tank to find some trace. Less than 12 hours.

My tank is a 10G with a 3 in pleco, 6 neons, and (apparently) 2 danios.

The other odd thing is that I had two female danios in the tank and they are the two that are gone.

Where are my fish going???

Thanks for any help all.

PS no fish found around the tank or on the ground. Also there were no wetspots and the dust on the surface was not disturbed.

I would suspect one danio got picked to death and the pleco finished off the carcass. Most(if not ALL)plecos love dead fish, and will consume the whole thing, bones and all. With 3 plecos in a 10g tank, I imagine they're getting a little hungary. Especially if you were away for the weekend.

plecs sometimes do that. I was pretty amazed when the same thing happened in my old 35gallon with my black tetras and my puffer. Hed pick on the tetras until they were dead and then the plecs would eat them off the bottom of the tank. In a month all of my 10 tetras were gone.
