Sorry for the derail, but I have to ask: do you have the 1,000g+ tank/pond to house an adult rtc?

If the answer to the above question is "no," then I strongly recomend you find another cat species instead of the RTC (otherwise you'll just end up with a severly stunted fish w/ gillcurl that you can't get rid of).

If the answer to the above question is "yes", then I'd suggest liveaquaria.com, or just look around the MFK marketplace and see if you can find one for free (or at least dirt cheap), especially since liveaquaria is selling them for about 6x what they're actually worth, and doesn't have them in stock currently anyway.

yea i am getting like a 400g pond so i guess thats a no to the RTC. i really want a bullhead. what about this one? http://liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=830+1163+2934&pcatid=2934
if not what else is there? can u help me?
A raphael will do fine in anything over 30 gallons, but they only get to like 8-10" (also, I doubt they would be able to survive the winters in connecticut). Take a look at this website: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/search.php just type in what size range, temperature tolerance, etc. you are looking for and and it will find up to 100 species that meet your specifications.

Edit: just noticed you're in Connecticut which limits your options if it is an unheated outdoor pond, in which cases your only choices (that I can think of) would be the different species of bullheads.

^agreed, and yeah you have to be mental and physically prepared, plus a nice ol' amount of cash to have a RTC for life.

yea i want to thanks guys! what aboujt a pleco? i dont know much about them what makes them different from a cat? just the name? cuz i want one from my LFS it looks awsome!
