Save yourself about 80% and buy regular play sand at your local Home Depot or Lowes. And, if you want white sand get white play sand from Toys R Us.

Get thee to your local sand and gravel yard where you will find 100 lb bags of coarse sand/ fine gravel in the natural color for about $14.00, out the door. They might also have the black blast grit, which is pretty but has safety issues in the long run. The hundred pound bag was perfect for my 75 gallon tank, in which I hope to grow lots of plants.
