I found 1 previous thread on this subject, but did not find it very useful. I want to buy some breeding pots for all my cichlids, but all I can find is flower pots. Where can I get those nice pots like you see in Mo's videos? (they almost look like ceramic, is ceramic aquarium safe?) I've only bred fish on slates and I think it will be much more productive with a proper pot.

I also want to know where you get that egg crate divider stuff.

These are kind of noob questions, but any help would be appreciated.

Google it. I found a discus site or something withthose for sale.

I don't really want to buy them from the internet though. I'm going to check Home Depot again either today or tomorrow.

What materials are okay for my tank water though? I know terra-cotta is fine, but are ceramics okay?
No plastics right?

Does anybody know about the egg-crate.

I'll buy from the net as a last resort.

i have heavy plastic cups for breeding caves for my convicts, the eggcrate will be in the lighting department at lowes or home depot

Thanks, I'll buy some egg-crate soon.
Does Home Depot also have suction cups to keep the egg crate secure?

I bought a ceramic pot from Home Depot just a little while ago and looks like it will be perfect for my fish. I rinsed with hot water for a couple minutes and scrubbed it, then washed it again, so I don't think I'll have to worry about toxins leaking out. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I just put it in my tank and hopefully I'll see some eggs tomorrow.

BTW: Thanks for all the helpful info!

while you are at home depot or lowes they should have very similar pots to the ones you are thinking of...you might also want to talk to your lfs, they tend to have a lot of equipment for these sort of things

Ceramic equipment is 100% safe to use in aquariums. Half of the fake decor on the market is made from it. Nursery's and pot places should have an abundance of pots your looking for.
