where in Indy to buy sand

Almost any pool store has it.... when I checked it was around 7.00 a bag..... I think 25 pounds in a bag.
 
Get QuickCreate Pool filter sand.

I got mine from Do it Best hardware in New Palestine, IN off US52

I used it in my 75 gallon and it is good. Make sure to clean it good first and expect a milkshake tank for about 5 days. Maybe more, becuase i over filter like a mofo. (my puffer is a messy eater)
 
My sand comes from my local hardware store. It's the only place I've seen quartz (wont matter with cichlids). The pool filter sand I get doesn't have to be rinsed and will not cloud the water. It's 7-8 bucks for 50lbs.
 
take 41 north to "lake michigan". can take it out by the truck load, just make sure to do it at night....

i saw some in home depot the other day (pool filter sand) that is if theres a home depot in your area it wouldnt hurt 2 look they should have the same stock i would think
 
Mine I bought about 2 miles from my house. It was 10$ for a 50 pound bag. I did not rinse it and it didn't really need it. If you're interested in that place let me know
