recently at my LFS im seeing all these fish without tails! one was an african cichlid in a tank with a bunch of smaller ones, but it didnt have a tail and it looked perfectly healed and was swimming fine, then i look and see a manguaneese and he didnt have a tail either (both fish were in tanks with smaller fish of the same kind)

no one has an answer? its kinda weird seeing like 10 fish like this

if the tank is small and there are lots of africans in one tank, they will bite the tails of each other. If seen it a lot.

Hard to tell without a pic. Sometimes fish have their tails cut off to look "better" (which I think is disgusting)

Here is one of mine that has had the tail removed.... he is a midas and he is prob around 9 or 10"

I read an artical talking about how they did it but I can't find it right now.

we get some in at my store some times, i think it just comes from pet shop breeders, they don't really care for taking the time to breed out mutations like that, they just want to breed fast to make a buck.
