it says made in Italy on the bottom opposite the purge valve on a silver sticker

It's made in the FX5 factory on the FX5 assembly line.

They are designed in Canada though. I have been thinking of going up there and taking a tour Maybe hope in the designing drivers seat

Thats cool. I was thinking that they were made in China. I'm glad that they aren't.

Fluval is Hagen company, which is Canadian. And they get a lot of their inspiration from German Engineering.

I doubt the filters are actually "made" in Canada but they are "designed" in Canada.
