Yes i know its under other monster fish... But why is this area so quiet? stingray question = hundred responses per hour, this area seems like a ghost town lol. Im new to this area since i just picked up my rhom. how many active members are lurking in the shadows of the piranha area?

I lurk here all the time since I love piranhas. Can't keep them though :(
I guess it's so quiet because although lots of people keep P's , most are the uninformed teenager keeping their 4 "super killer fish" (RBP) in a 40 gallon, rather than responsible keepers who really care about their fish and thus go on MFK to discuss, help, get help and share with others.
With rays or cichla more people belong to the second group, especially because these are so expensive that group 1 wouldn't keep them.

PM me, I can give you a couple of more active piranha forums. This one is good, but less active generally.

Chub_by, as far as I remember, a single pygo piranha is more than comfortable in a 30 gal, 40 would be lovely for 1. Now if it were a rhom, whole different story. Don't have to be an uniformed teenager who doesn't care about fish to have just 1. And must I state the obvious? If they're on here, they have to care at least a little... otherwise why bother joining a husbandry forum? This forum was more active a few years ago when I kept piranhas, inactivity happens.

Rbps should always be kept in groups.. And its not just tank or group size, its also tank maintenance and feeding.

It seemed really active when I first joined 3 years ago but about a year in everyone kinda just disappeared. Jp now a mod is the only regular from back then that's active. Always shocked when I see others from back then. Use to have fun discussions, now it's just people new to piranhas asking questions. F1 vet and Jp might be the only ones who check it daily lol

So I'm assuming you're calling me an uniformed teen because I only have 1? Because I'm fairly sure I'm well-informed, and also, not a teen. Or maybe you're implying that I don't care about my fish? in which case, why would I bother with a fishkeeping forum, or care about her water conditions, and whether or not she has enough places to hide to make her more comfortable, OR putting freaking DUCT TAPE on my lid to make the light easier on her eyes. Care to tell me which category I fall in for only having one P. Nattereri?

Ouch and its personal preference! Not like a solo rbp crys itself to sleep from lonliness every night lol. Sometimes I actually want mine to be solo esp when they try and kill eachother.

To each his own, still a cool fish!
