Where oh where could...

My khuli loach be? Just yesturday I cleaned my cabaret filter and found him swimming around the very bottom ( which after 8 hours at work fishing him out for 20 miniuted was not my plan for the evening), once caught I of course put him back into my aquarium. To my surprise as I trimmed my plants just seconds after his release, he is nowhere to be seen. Now today I have taken apart my canister filter and he is not in there, I have looked all over yet no fish. Where are some random places you have found fish or that a khuli loach could be hiding in? I have run out of ideas of where to look.

same thing happened to me 3 days ago with my big kuhli and one small one. I had no idea where they were. I turned off the lights and came back 2 hours later and they were both out swimming with my others. Also they like to burrow
 
I looked behind the dresser and I didn't notice any fish behind there, I'll dig around further lol. Oh I dd forget they burrow. Urgh these fish the past two days

i have 4 of them in my 75 and they are always hiding under something. i think they are more active at night. even when i take out all my decor from the tank, its hard to cout all 4 of them.
 
Yea I try to count and it is difficult but I ended up finding him in the spray bar somehow. Just happy he wasn't a jumper.
