Where does everyone get their pots and pcv pipes from? Someone told me watch for the cheap ones cause they'll poison the tank? I'm a frequent Lowes shopper, would the ones from there work?

It was me that had the bad experiences with cheap terracotta. On two occasions I've managed to kill most if not all of my bottom-feeders (pleco, RTS & flag-tail) by using it and I'm not in a rush to try again, but I also seem to be the only person to have this issue and it looks GREAT once it develops a little algal patina.
Maybe it's just me- my fingernail crud somehow reacts with the pottery to make a toxic paste ;)

i buy terra cotta pots from every where lowes, homedepot, yard sales, garden centers and i even have one i used from my grandmothers yard and have never had a problem, some of my pots have been in my tanks for years. never heard of a terracotta pot poisioning fish.

Thanks for the info guys. Andyroo, you were the one that told me. That's why I was hesitant to do it and wanted to get some more info. Thanks again.
