Where to buy DIY Plumbing parts

Hi All,

Maybe just my LFS's suck but where can you buy plumbing parts? Like bulk heads and such. I was to do a Bean Animal Overflow on these tanks I'm buying. But I'm not a plumber, and I don't see the parts at my LFS.

Any tips? Is there a good online store?

I live in Canada but I'd buy from the US for these parts.

Call a pond supply outlet in your area.
Home Depot and Lowe's sells bulkheads but tbh don't know if they can be used on aquariums. Tagging a couple of members.

J&L Aquatics in Vancouver. They have an excellent selection of assorted gear and hardware, including plumbing fittings; I've ordered from them numerous times with complete satisfaction.

There's also Pets and Ponds in Ontario, maybe close enough for you to go in person...Strathroy, I think?

Luckily my lfs's are pretty good. They don't have much in the way of pipes though. Pipes and fittings usually come from hd or Menards. If lfs doesn't have what I want/need I use Amazon. I just set up 2 overhead sumps and needed uniseals 1" but they were both out so Amazon to the rescue, love prime.

I use those two sites regularly, but I should explain that I do so for semi-specialized items like bulkheads, strainers, etc.

For the basic stuff like pipe, couplings, connectors, elbows, solvent cement, etc. I can get it cheaper and faster at the local Home Depot, Rona, etc.
 
Unions and PVC at BBS. Strainers, bulkhead, ball valve, gate valves, loc-line and colored PVC at Bulk Reef Supply. Occasionally Amazon.
