where can i buy foam pads that i can cut to fit my DIY w/d? what brand has anybody used? i saw some at wal-mart but they said flame retardant so im skeptical. any craft/fabric websites?

Foam Pads for a W/D ??
Do you mean pre-filter media, or actual open cell foam as used in canisters.
A W/D typically only uses pre-filter pads to keep the big stuff from fouling the bio-balls.
That can be made from polyester "pillow stuffing" found at Wally for $2.00 a pillow sized bag. When dirty, toss it and add new.
Open cell will be harder to come by based on your needed dimensions, will need more frequent cleaning, and cost more than "stuffing" and bio-balls combined.
I've actually used a clean white washcloth for a pre-filter before in an emergency.
Packs up fairly quick, but gets the job done.

yeah im using the stuffing now, i just wanted something i could clean and that will catch the smaller debris as well. stuffing works good its just a pita sometimes.
