Calgary, AB, Canada
Hi Everyone,

Im just wondering if anyone has some up to date information on where one could buy Iridescent Sharks in Calgary, AB. I swear I've looked everywhere! (Pisces, Petland, Petsmart, a bunch of other independent stores) If anyone knows of any for sale right now, or even someone who is selling them, please let me know :) Thanks :)

Our walmarts here don't sell fish, and I cant find any locally on the internet but I'm going to keep looking...

Went to petsmart tonight and they have two very similar looking sharks (well one was a catfish actually) but they weren't quite what I'm looking for so I'm going to hold out for the Iridescents and hopefully I'll find some soon!!!

ID sharks are catfishes...Have you tried Riverfront or BigAl's? ID's are pretty common at LFS imo.

Yeah last time I checked neither of those stores had any (Im fairly sure I've phoned every LFS in town!) I suppose I could always phone again and see if they have any now....

Somebody suggested that I try to special order them in, so I think thats what im going try next, however I'd like to be able to choose my fish (im not too picky, I just have a few key things that I'd be looking for) so hopefully I'll be able to do that. Not to sure how that works...

oh and btw I know ID Sharks are Catfish, They're just typically referred to as Iridescent (ID) Sharks and I didnt know how to fit that all into that particular post without sounding liking a crazy person imo =) (I was looking for an Iridescent shark (aka catfish) they had one ____ shark that looked almost like a catfish/ID Shark and one ____ catfish that almost looked like an ID shark/catfish but neither of them were quite as good as an ID Shark/Catfish) ? =)

You do realize how big these fish get right?
Yes I've owned them before =) we have a 200+g tank to put some new ones in and a friend of mine has a huge pond in his shop (that's who we donated our old ID sharks to when they grew up) I know they grow big and quickly too! We consider these things before we buy pets =) Thanks for the info anyway =)

Just making sure most people dont realize, they believe what there told my people in the LFS but the reality is they can grow up to 4 feet long and weight in at 100 pounds. Some of those fish in a pond would look sweet!
