Where to Buy Iridescent (ID) Sharks in Calgary?

Hi Everyone,

Im just wondering if anyone has some up to date information on where one could buy Iridescent Sharks in Calgary. I swear I've looked everywhere! (Pisces, Petland, Petsmart, a bunch of other independent stores) If anyone knows of any for sale right now, or even someone who is selling them, please let me know Thanks

Petland doesn't stock fish that get that large but will special order them if you have an appropriate tank.

That's a great idea! i don't know why I didn't think to ask them if they could do that, may have saved some time spent searching! Have you or anyone here had experience special ordering fish from petland or anywhere else in Calgary? I just wonder if they would order some and let me pick the one's that I want? I'm abit shallow/superficial; I want good looking sharks =) I also like to see them swimming around and interacting so I can get a feel for their general healthiness and happiness... hmmm I wonder if they would do let me do that.... I suppose the next best thing to do would be to phone around and ask!

Any old petshop should have them! Every petsmart i have gone to including 2 independent petshops carry them. Ask the store clerk or order them online. Be careful though because after a long time, they get extremely huge, nearing 3 feet!

I try to stay away from Petland, mainly because they buy all their dogs from Puppy Mills and the longer we support them, the longer they keep the mills running . I didn't know that they even carried fish.

I don't think Petsmart will special order, at least the ones here won't. But I know you can find them online for sale quite a bit.

Thanks for all the advice =) I actually found some at Gold Aquariums on 17th ave SE and they have a great selection of healthy ID's cheap too!! They were only $4 for medium sized babies and they have a two for one sale on right now for most of their fish, so I got six sharks for about $15 bucks =) Im so excited to watch them grow up! Thanks again for all the great advice!
