So I've had my ray a couple of weeks now and he's been persistent on eating live night crawlers but I'd like to get him on something more nutritious and convenient to feed. I've got a standard glass 210 which is pretty tall and was wondering where to buy long tongs?
If you cant find tongs like i couldnt i resorted to using my gravel cleaner its just a long clear pipe so the other fish cant get the food and my rays know thats where the food comes from so they rush over to it and cloak it i find it works really well.
Some tool supply stores carry them. I have seen them at flea markets where they sell all the cheap tools not made in the UNITED STATES, I have seen super long ones there, about 22in long metal ones. Usually find the metal ones with electronics tools. I bought mine from Raido Shack, they weren't really long though. 8in and curved at the tip. My tank is 29 3/4in tall and that was plenty long for me. Of course I have to put my arm in the tank. Depends how many rays you have and how close you want to get.
They have them a Harbor Freight for cheap. You can also find them at some hardware stores and most military surplus stores. You can find them all over the net, ebay, Amazon or just Google it.
