So I just got a Odysea 260 watt, 4 bulb fixture for my 55g. But it came with 2 12k and 2 actnic bulbs. Im broke now, does anybody know where to buy good cheap bulbes in a better spectrum (6.5k-8k)? Im trying to grow plants.

The expensive part is the bulbs. What kind of budget do you have?

Brand isn't too much of a problem, just the pin arrangement, and wattage. Expect to pay $30-50 per bulb.

Cool, so those ebay ones i posted above might work out? Thanks!

They should work, but I'd check on the brand still, as they may not be as good as those sold in aquaria.

I've had my spurt with cfs. I've sold most of my lights. I now run HO T5s in their place, and may upgrade my main display to a MH.

i would eventually like MH, but im a broke college student. i found a deal for 2 260watt odysea PC/CF(dont know the difference) for $150 for both. The reflectors are very shiny, and they were only 6-8months old, so I bought them form my 55g. They have cool lunar blue led lights which look awesome at night too! I hope they grow my plants fine . . . we'll see.

Power compact = PC, Compact fluorescent = CF, CF=PC. That isn't a bad deal for the fixtures, but the bulbs kill in the end HO T5 are much cheaper.
