The You tube video is likely using CaribSea Floramax Planted Aquarium Substrate Midnight. http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3746+21433&pcatid=21433

The grain in the video is too large to be fluorite sand or to round to be fluorite gravel. I have both. Any reason you want this specific gravel? Flourite makes a great planting base.

Eh I saw that at Petco but they were too sharp. I want something small and round like a BB. No particular reason. I just think that kind of substrate look great. And the grains are small enough for my shrimp to move around.

I bought some Clifford Estes Frosty gravel after looking at a small picture on Amazon. Very round and soft but they were too big. Theyre about the size of a shirt button. But the stuff is VERY clean. No need to rinse.

Looks like it could be that Amazonia type soil for planted tanks by Nature Aquarium Goods... i used to use that stuff in my shrimp tank, comes in 2 or 3 sizes from fine to a coarser grain...

In Hong Kong most people lay down the coarser grain on the bottom to fill the space and then use the finer stuff for the top inch or so of soil for a more aesthetically pleasing look...

Do you guys buy them from LFS or from ADA online?
