im re aquascaping and im looking for sand that i can use for the best price. i dont need substrate i have no live plants. and what exactly am i looking for that has no chemicals or anything in it. my local petco only has rocks

IMO you want your tank to look as close as possible to your fishes natural environment they don't live on a disco dance floor why try to make your tank resemble one?

you can find normal sand in natural earth colors like white or tan at home-depot or local hardware stores they call it play sand or pool filter sand or order the expensive black tahitian moon sand but its pricy between 30 or 40 bucks for a 20lb bag i hate to say this but try petsmart also they usually have aquarium sand what size tank???

organic colors that are different. green sand cool stuff like that. i was gonna buy the stuff at homedepot for kids but i wasnt sure what it had in it.

Crayola has an assortment of colored sand. Walmart sells it cheap. I have used a green/purple 50/50 combo in a 55G tank and like the look. I have also used the navy blue sand in a 20 long. The flounder love it.
