I've called all the local exotic fish stores I know of and none of them have anything good. I'm wanting to get some kind of freshwater ray. I see that a lot of people have them, yet I can't find them anywhere. Are they hard to find or must you have them shipped to you?

And if I find them then what kind of advice can you give about them? I've done all my research but research doesn't compare to expirence.

you can find them in fresh water :) lol umm most lfs have them i cant see why a big als wouldnt i mean i see them all the time up here in canada cant be to hard to find in the states :P

Move out of TX and to a state that allows them and they are pretty darn easy to find sorry....

Motoros are easy here in WA state; Almost all the shops in the International district have them; Now female marbled motoros, thats a different story! Do your research though if you ever decide to make the leap; Rays love/need big wide tanks; when they get big they need to be able to lie flat and have plenty of room;

ouch, haha, that is isnt funny but i guess thats why your not findin any down there.

Not necessarily, it depends on where you are. They're legal here in KY, but I have only seen one for sale in my entire life, and that was years ago. (although I've been told that an lfs near me gets them every once in a while, but I've never seen them there)

big al's is a canadian company... I worked at the only franchise, now its a totally different company.

Sorry bud.. they are not legal to have in Texas..
Guess that was another reason I moved out of Texas

That sucks. Well when you say "not legal", why is that? Is there a reason for them to be illegal? And what kind of trouble could you get in for having one in Texas?
