I've been looking around the internet for lighting for my 150 tank. All that I've found is pretty expensive. All I'm looking for is a florecent bulb holder that are approx. 36" so I can get two since I have a strip down the center of my tank for added support.

Also, I have some banged up glass lids that I would like to find some more plastic strips for. I'll try to find a picture of what I am talking about. I have the glass for the lids, just the plastic is worn away and some plastic parts have split...

Anyone know where to find a good and affordable place to get these?

for the plastic, look at the plastic vinyl blinds (verticals), maybe use one of those glue it on with tank/food safe silicone and then cut as needed.

I get all my lights from construction sites, my mate is a builder and when they replace any lights or is going to throw some out he brings them to me.

Home Depot. Fish stores makes a killing of those lights. I went to my LFS and they quoted me the exact photo that you had, a 48" for $80.
