Where to fish for Gar in N. Texas

Title of thread is my question. Anyone had any fishing experience within 50 miles of DFW? I read the Trinity River has gar, but don't know quite where to go. Thanks

Thats my thought. There are lots of places with access. I'll just try. I want to catch some small ones.
