Many on this site are critical of buying live fish from Walmart. if you're looking for the best price on frozen fish, Walmart has the best prices.

Wow, Chris! You're lucky. Here in St. Johns, Az where I live, we have one grocery store (IGA). It really sucks for food prices, especially their Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) Tilapia. They buy their fish by the 10 pound box. An outrageous price of $35.00 per 10 pound box. Can you believe that? $3.50/pound. Safeway in Springerville, Az (30 miles southeast of St. Johns) isn't much better at $3.39/pound for IQF Tilapia. I think if I'm going to be able to feast on a fillet or two in the future, I'd be better off catching my own.

Catfish isn't much better at either store, too. $3.99/ pound. Cod goes for $17.00/pound. Salmon Fillets go for $25.00/pound for Alaskan King Salmon. Why do they have to get it so far from home and then have to have it shipped in? Does common sense ever get figured into these types of issues?

lol i feel u. i live up in the woods so all we have is a iga. prices are crazy. lol. i just end up driving 50 mins to wallmart.

I get my stuff from Albertsons. I talk to the guys n stock up on the shipment day.
Small artic shore raw shrimp is like 4.99lb n tilapia is 3.99lb. I grab some lobster tail here n there for 9.99ea n use that a little at a time. JM2C :D
