does anyone know where i could get these at a resonable price and healthy. the ones i found were $100.00. that seemed a little steep. how should i set up a 55G for them ?

you shouldn't, get a bigger tank or anouther fish. try a wimple piranha if you want to keep it in a 55.

yup i was at the store today tthey got a couple of em

a $100 is a pretty good price man. if you use the 55 leave alot of room for swimming because elongs tend to be very active. have you tried aquascape yet? go for the black mask elong only $25 more :) gl

$100 sounds about right but they are active fish that can easily get as long as a 55g is wide (12") so if you want one get the 75g tank, it is 1/2 again as wide (18"). Use several clumps of plants like elodea or corkscrew vals, to give it something to ambush from but amaily open space.

i know the 55 is on the small side but i have a line on a 90 that i think if i get the fish i can talk the wife into the tank. if your married you understand. don't tell her i said that shhhhh!
