I know there are calculators, but I want to curve glass, build n-gon tanks sothe walls will be short... I want to make a big tank with 1/8" acrilyc I can get for free by building in stronger shapes than a rectangle. Where would I get the equations I need?

If I wanted that answer, I would start with Stanford, Berkeley or MIT. Probably the engineering department.

Also, various shapes are stronger than rectangles or boxes, but aren't necessarily usable for tanks. Triangles and spheres are stronger, but not good choices, imo.

How would i go about that?
There is no "do it yourself" engineering website? If I knew what this subject was called i could do a google search,

A Sphere is beyond my ability to build, but if a triangle had advantages, I would build a shallow rectangular tank with a large triangular drop off section on each end, or build a huge right trangle and put it in the corner, with the top corner cut off and braced with a 6x6. I could climb inside to clean it.

Anyone?
