I don't know much about plants but I've bought an anubias on driftwood, An amazon sword and some other plant I'm not sure of for my new 70g and I'm trying to start up a mediumly planted tank. I've seen a kind of 'grass' on a good few planted tanks on YouTube. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2vLJ_vCspk If you want to know my stock list that I currently have and that I will get you can just say.

I'm wondering is this dwarf hairgrass? I saw 'dwarf hairgrass' on Live Aquaria but I'm not too sure...

Also, I have very good gravel, That was made specifically for planted tank, It cost me around 200 Euro just for the gravel.

I had some dwarf hair grass for a while, way cool I could trim it like a real lawn. But my cories kept it pushed back in a small part of the tank since they liked to dig and it doesn't do so good with that:(

Do any of you know if clown loaches and a pleco could go with this?

Yeah, its dwarf hairgrass. Loaches love to dig, so I don't think that would be a good idea. I tried to do a Flame moss carpet & my dojo ripped it all up. Could probably do smaller loach species like pangio (kuhli). Plecos love moving decor & plants also, so they would most likely mess it up.

Typically when I see carpeted tanks there's just schooling fish, no bottom feeders, so as not to mess it up but I would think smaller fish like cories or kuhlis would be alright.

Check planted tank swap and sell section or Aquatic plant centrals for sale or trade section. Check it daily it will be sold in bulk pretty frequently.

Just a warning: Aside from being susceptable to being ripped out, DGH needs high CO2. Lack of proper CO2 will surely cause you to lose all the plants. I would hate to see you shell ot $50 and have it all die.

If you are looking for a carpet plant for your 150 gallon I would suggest using SAGITTARIA SUBULATA. It carpets, is easy to grow and looks good in big tanks. http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/...ls.php?id=77&category=plant_type&spec=Rosette

With a tank of that size, plants with small leaves provide little contrast and look "dirty" in my opinion. Stick with large leaved plants so that you can see the various shapes when viewing from far away.
