I've been looking around for a small strand of 10-20 blue LED christmas lights, but most of the strands I see aren't LED, and they are battery powered when that small. :nilly:I'm looking to put them inside my strip light so I can use it as Moonlighting for a nice effect.

I know some of you have found these in stores, but what stores? I'll order them online if I have to. But I'd prefer it to be plug in style, and a max of 20, but a preferred 10-15 light strand.

Thanks and Merry Christmas Eve :headbang2

I bought some of eBay 2 yrs ago....They're still glowing strong..... Were solar powered ....Maybe you can convert the battery ones to your power supply???

rope lights work well. can be found in blue and in relatively short runs, 6 ft i think. i buy mine at home depot or lowes.

At this point in the season, it is going to be very hit and miss. The only stores in my area that still have them are Walgreens. Your area is going to be unique, so you are going to have to hit as many stores as possible on Friday. Don't wait though. LED lights are this years fad and I think there is going to be a rush for any left overs (remember when Ice Sickles first came out).

I got my LED's from a surplus shop called Skycraft. They were intended to be battery operated but I got a transformer to run them off of. If you can only find a string of 70-100 lights, use only as many as you need. The equation to divy them up is going to depend on if they are in series or parallel, however I am fairly certain that LED's have to be in parallel. Also, the power consumption is dependent on the load rather than the supply. The new transformer needs to be slightly larger than what is needed (if you decide to get a new transformer).

By the way, if you want them to be blue use an AC to DC transformer. If you want them to be white, use an AC to AC transformer.

I picked up a string of 60 blue leds for 7 bucks at Walmart about a week ago. 120 volt btw....

I got one set and put it on my 55 last week and love the look. I went out and picked up 4 more boxes for my new 180 and for a friend, at 50% off(3.49). Check your walmart before they sell out, if you cant find any, I might be able to part with one.
