where to get?

does anyone know where i can get a red snakehead (channa something??) in canada?
i've visited china before and seen this kind of fish (usually in resturant fish tanks : ) and i want to get one to keep. i really like this fish and it tastes pretty good too, but i want to get one as a fry and keep it until it dies (not gonna eat it)

Most petshops in Canada can get Red Snakeheads easily.

really? what about in toronto?

because I've asked almost all the LFS around my area and they all said the same thing, "they are illegal and we do not carry snakeheads"

I really really reeeeeeaaaaaallllllly want a snakehead. Unfortunatly I can. they are unavailable in Canada! Illegal. stupid protective *****es. Its probably because some cockboy somewhere put on in a lake as a joke.

Anywho. if anyone DOES find any available in Canada, please tell me. because I want some. and if your a law enforcment personel. I DO NOT WANT ANY OF THESE NOR HAVE I CONSIDERED IT.

pretty old thread, but today was i shocked when i saw two types of snakeheads for sale at the local Big Als...I figured that they had more or less been outlawed in Canada too. For sale were juvie "rainbow" and "Giant" snakeheads for 17$. Was told many different types could be ordered no problem. neat, although i wouldnt be able to house one....yet!!

Rainbows stay small. 6-8" is typical, pretty fish.
