Looking for a relatively close place to order live food(1/2 lb. black worms), preferably in N.Y.
I've only seen mail order places out west and I'm trying to save on shipping.

Check with your LFS, they should be able to add them to their fish orders. This will cut cost on shipping.

I agree

I always got mine from my LFS. They had to special order them in, but it was never a problem. I've also seen them be called trout worms on their lists.

I buy trout worms from the bait shop, they're the same as earth worms.
The black worms I'm talking about are like bloods or tubifex but a little bigger.

And as far as ordering them from my lfs, won't they charge me more than what they're getting it for???

Of course they'll put a mark up on them, but I'm sure it'll be cheaper than shipping from the west coast.

On a side note we have a fridge full of them at the LFS I work at and always stock them. If you're up for a road trip to Baltimore, come and get em, but shipping would most likely be cheaper than gas for a 4+ hour road trip.

 4 hrs is $50 in gas, I don't need the worms that bad.

Why would a bait shop keep black worms?

Are family has owned a bait and tackle store for 35 years and i have never seen or heard of using a black worm for bait.
