Moved back in with my parents and just got a good deal on a 350 gallon 8x2x3. After building a stand and setting up the filtration I planned on setting up the tank in the garage but my father insisted to put it somewhere we could enjoy it better so we moved it to the first floor dining room/family room. However, my grandmother deeply objects to this and says it will be too heavy for the house to hold up and it will cause damage. This house is two story and 6 bed 3 bathroom. It's custom built in 2003 and houses my whole family.
Should I risk damaging the house and setup the tank in the dining room located at the very South end of my house? What are other people's experience with big tanks in the house?
