I will soon be getting two or three pairs of Neolamprologus Brevis shelldweller cichlids. I am very excited and hope to turn them into a beautiful colony of teeny cichlids. My only problem is where to put them. The easiest thing would be to put them in my 55, as I already have a sand substrate there. The only thing is I already have 12 dwarf neon rainbows, 3 Australian rainbows, 2 female guppies and a 3+ inch flying fox. The shellies may be threatened by these fish.
The other option would be to move my 25 guppies from my 10 into the 55, put sand in the ten, and give the shellies their own tank. I could also split the shellies between the tanks. Any tips?

I would personally give them their own tank so you can enjoy their unique behavior with the shells.
