Hello, i am new to marine aquatics (or saltwater) and i don't know where to start my tank size is 30 gallons and i have around 500$ to spend on just the equipment can someone experienced please tell me everything i need. ( i know about the live rock and live sand and corals and such).

Im experienced enough i guess. Not all fish can be kept with corals, either.but you probably know that.anyway, you will need a good filteration system, stable water conditions because salties are more sensitive to change so basically you should keep the temp, salt,ph and so on the same.Next you should have a protein skimmer for good results.you need to know what fish to buy.For starters you might want damsels, clowns, blennys, cardinalfish, chromis, hawkfish, wrasses, and possibly dwarf lionfish.you might also want to put feeder shrimp in there and let them breed so the fish will have a snack.of course you will still need to feed them what ever special food they require.Skimmers can be expensive, ive seen over 200$.most are like 100+.I just you might also want a biowheel.pm me for more info.

1st thing you should do is go to www.reefcentral.com & find the closest reef club to you. Start posting there. Lots of folks selling off their live rock for cheap & used equipment, like skimmers. I'd go for a Backpac skimmer. You can by frags of corals for cheap from fellow reefers, too.
