where to start

Well I'm new at the aquarium thing. So obviosly I have a few questions. I have a Kennyi and a jewel cichlid in a tank together is that a good idea. My Jewels back fin is all tore up.

I just have a little bitty 10 gal. tank

Ah that is the problem right there. the tank is too small for them. Most cichlids can get very territorial. Do you have other fish in the tank as well?

How big is the tank i had Malawi Cichlid a few years back i dont confess in being an expert on these things but the first thing is how big is the tank you need 50 gallons + for this sort of fish they are quite Aggressive and gets to 5-6".The jewel cichlid gets to the same sort of size and also scrappy but not to the standards of the Kenyi. Like all cichlids they need space all depends on the tank size.The Kenyi being a Malawi should have a differant water conditons they like a Ph of 8.5 and jewel like 7 but once again like Cichlids this is a wide gage.

neither of them are even an inch long yet. I like to get my fish as babys.

i also have an albino corey cat. But my kenyi and jewel aren't even an inch long yet.

Yup I'd say upgrade to a bigger tank with sight barriers and hiding spots.
